AS Roma: “Dimitris Keramitsis is the last diamond of the team that reminds Manolas”

Roma: What Corriere dello Sport reports about the Greek player of Roma…

This is reported today by the Italian sports daily Corriere dello Sport, in a tribute to the Greek defender, who made his debut, at the age of 17 years, 6 months and 16 days, with Roma’s first team on Sunday in the match against Cagliari (1-0), coming on the field in the 95th minute, in place of Maitland Niles.

Corriere dello Sport reports in detail:

“Those who know him say he has a good temperament: he is very sure of himself because he knows he is strong and he also has in mind where he wants to go. Behind this kid (he’s 1.93cm tall), as is often the case, there’s an incredible story.Because until a couple of seasons ago he was in Greece, in Thessaloniki, playing among amateurs. In a short period of time he went from total anonymity to the spotlight in Serie A. No steps in between,” he says, noting his journey.

“Keramitsis was meant to play for the under-18 team, but Alberto De Rossi promoted him almost immediately to Primavera. He usually plays on the centre left, being right footed. He has a lot of strengths: he knows how to put the ball down, he’s strong on high balls, and outplaying him one-on-one is a pretty complicated task. He reminds some people of Manolas. He was already training sporadically with the first team in November. Mourinho studied him for a long time and had the courage to throw him into the fray against Cagliari.”
